It’s #DVAM (Domestic Violence Awareness Month) a

It’s #DVAM (Domestic Violence Awareness Month) and we invite you to PARTNER with us!

Honor Project Movement has some BIG GOALS to hit before the end of the year!

$15,000 will help us cover:

* Operating expenses for the final quarter of 2023

* Resource coaching for dozens of survivors

* Christmas Blessings for 50+ survivor mamas and kiddos

* Coaching and counseling groups for the first quarter of 2024

I met with the directors of @firststepva (a local

I met with the directors of @firststepva (a local DV shelter) this week to discuss ways to partner with @honorprojectmovement

We are grateful for First Step for the services they provide to mamas and kiddos in our community and we look forward to linking arms with them in the future.

Our first project is to collect summer fun items for the kids.

I’d like to collect items and deliver by June 30.

Or, if you’d rather donate funds to purchase the items, donation link in comments.

(This would be a great activity to do with your kiddos, let them know that other children are unhoused and going through a hard time and you want to bless them. Let each kid pick out an item or two to donate.)

Mother’s Day is not an easy time for domestic vi

Mother’s Day is not an easy time for domestic violence survivors.

Many survivor single mamas are rebuilding their lives and have been forsaken by their families, friends, and faith communities.

I invite you to see her.

She may be utterly alone.

She may be separated from her children because of injustice in the court system and/or DV by proxy.

She may be struggling financially and not have the means to celebrate.

She may be physically ill and not be able to care for herself or her kids.

I invite you to honor her.

If your finances are limited, send a message of encouragement, offer to babysit so she can have a few hours to herself, or give her an hour of your time to knock out a task that she needs completed.

If you are able, each out and offer her a kind word, a bouquet of flowers, a baked treat, a homemade meal, or a gift card to a local restaurant.

If you have a relationship with her children, offer to take them shopping and give them each $10-20 to pick out a gift for their mama.

Or, provide art supplies and let them create cards with words of affirmation.

If you are a photographer, offer a free mini session for mama and her kids.

There are so many women in your community, neighborhood, workplace, and church who feel forgotten and overwhelmed.

Mother’s Day can be excruciating for them, and your kindness can make a difference for them.
